When I started 21 years ago in this industry, there used to be 10 or 11 Hot Tub manufactures in South Africa, now there is about 5 left.
Most of these manufacturers used locally supplied components and parts, which have also dwindled over the years. Some used parts they had made for themselves and when they closed down became obsolete. Problem with this is that their specific parts and components were made for their Hot Tubs and is incompatible with other manufacturers. So when it has to be replaced you either have to modify the Hot Tub or the part and is not always easy and in some cases impossible.
Manufacturers like Sundance Spas and Jacuzzi did not close down, but left the country completely. Finding replacement parts is very difficult. Some local manufacturers have discontinued certain parts and electrical components and the new stuff is not backward compatible.

- Jacuzzi, Hot Tub shell Jet replacement can vary between R650 to thousands depending on the type of Jacuzzi, Hot Tub shell and installation. Built in or free standing.
- Jacuzzi, Hot Tub shell structural issues can sometimes not be repaired and will result in replacement.
Jacuzzi, Hot Tub Delivery System.
- Pipe replacement could be simple or difficult, depending on the type of problem and installation. Depending on the make, model or type of installation.
- Parts of the Jacuzzi, Hot Tub delivery system include: Jets, Suction, Bottom drain, Weir, Air control, Pipes. Replacement of any of these parts, depend heavily on the make, model or type of installation. Portable units are sometimes cheaper, but could be expensive due to availability.
